Seaworthy Solutions has been conducting professional yacht deliveries since the early 1980's . Our delivery crews consist of USCG licensed captains, ASA and US Sailing certified instructors, boat builders, offshore racing sailors, and veterens of quite a number of trans-ocean crossings. More importantly, however, we are all boat owners here - not just sailors out to gain experience on your boat. As boat owners, we understand the need to excercise prudence and care in conducting our responsibilty of the task of transporting your vessel to her destination. We take a proactive approach to this by performing a thorough inspection of your vessel , prior to departure , to determine what, if any , problems could affect the seaworthiness of your vessel underway. We then provide a detailed list of our findings, solutions that we would recommend to rectify them , and pricing for said repairs, should your care to hire Seaworthy Solutions to perform them. The following are a few posts from internet sailing forums and blogs of what recent boat owners have to say about their experience with us here at Seaworthy Solutions.
I just bought a Morgan 382. The boat is in good condition, well equipped for ocean cruising (as it crossed the Atlantic and back), and while the survey found a few maintenance items, no major issues surfaced. The boat is currently located in Miami, FL.
I am looking to move it to either:
- Northern Florida, to the Green Cove Springs Marina in the St. John river, near Jacksonville, FL, and keep it there into storage until spring of next year.
- OR directly move it to Virginia, exact location yet unknown, where I have family who can take care of it until spring of next year.
I am available to do the passage, but would like to hire a captain & his crewtoskipper the boat and teach me along the way. I have coastal sailing experience around LA & San Fran., and my U.S. sailing up to coastal nagivation, but I do not know the U.S. east coast, which is why I would need help.
I would like the move to be in August, using as a start or end either of the weekends of August 7th, 14th or 21st. I understand this isn't the perfect time of the year to move a boat along that coast due to the weather.
Please let me know whether you would be interested, your experience, qualification both as delivery captain and possibly as sailing instructor, and a ballpark figure of cost. You can either reply here or PM me.
Thanks
Philippe

Hi All,
Thank you for all your replies.
I have hired Scott Watts from Seaworthy Solutions who, with his crew and I, did a great job in the past two weeks to repair and prepare the boat, then deliver it on time, fromMiami, FLto Deltaville, VA. I would recommend Scott to anyone looking for a deliverycaptain and crew!
FROM ANOTHER RECENT DELIVERY: This is an excerpt, quoted from the owner's web blog. The title is a link to his full blog, which contains narrative of some extraordinary events which occurred while underway.
"...So Saturday I pulled out all the stops and started looking for help to finish the trip. None of the folks I knew were free at the time so I posted a crew wanted add on cruisers forum, a place on the web were you can talk sailing all the time, and waited. Not long after, I had a call and the rest is history. Lets just say I got very lucky. Scott Watts, a delivery captain/mechanic/electrician/shipwright/master of all nautical answered the call and was available. I wonder if knowing what he knows now, he still would have answered. :) Oh well...we will never know...unless he posts a comment. :)"
